We are opening tomorrow

The temperatures are improving and the grues (cranes) are flying north. It’s a wonderful sight here in France, people stop in the street to look up at the birds making a noise like excited children, some take photos. So, although the barn is still cold, we have decided to open up on Valentine’s Day. There will be blueberry muffins and hot drinks to warm us up.

We have closed for the winter

The barn is just too cold now so we have decided that this week would be the last before Christmas. We had a little celebration with mince pies and some other lovely food and mulled wine. A little bit of work was done also

Some beautiful drawings

A few paintings this week and a notebook

Another week and lots of works in progress

This week in the barn

Water-based oil paints

I am trying to paint Kate and Eric’s wood, not sure it is working but will keep at it

Knitting a fleece

Viv was knitting with yarn that created a thick fleece, by using small needles, the result is like fabric. She was making a blanket for her foster kittens

This is what we did this week

Weaving with pine needles

Kate and Eric are staying with us and we’ve been weaving little baskets with pine needles. Who would have thought?
