A lovely group of ladies today most of whom brought their own spinning wheels
This week there was a lot of preparing – pots and bowls and baskets – for decoupage next week – I think we were all feeling a little lethargic with the heat but it was lovely and cool in the barn. Some painting was done as well
We were playing with colour this week, mixing, displacing colour by dropping in alcohol (gin worked really well), and water colour on a canvas
Jane was working on her scene in water colour and Dawn had finished hers
We had a peaceful afternoon, I have almost finished my bowl of fruit, Anne was working on her long acrylic, Viv was experimenting with oil paints (no picture) and on the other table, John was making a door !
Jan and Eric were doing stunning work this week
Vivien had finished her first oil painting and Jackie was experimenting with water colour on a canvas
Alison joined us this week to do sketching and Anne started her long seascape in acrylic
Diana started a moody painting from her sketch of a story from the writing group, Jane was using aquarelle pencils outside and I started a bowl of pears, one of my favourite subjects!
.. and the crafts this week – decoupage, finishing off a goose in papier maché and painting a lamp
We were inside in the morning, learning techniques and painting pansies
then we had lunch
… in the afternoon it got a bit more difficult – this is the view we were painting
… and these are the paintings
some of us preferred to paint details
A diverse week from buddha heads to giant knitting, not forgetting the elephants
Lots of activity on Tuesday
two elephants waiting to be finished
Eric and Jan were starting new paintings
Jane has nearly finished her water colour, Anne was painting a ram in acrylic, Dawn was outside sketching the courtyard and Helen was starting yet another rug
…and I was doing another Venice
