lots of activity this morning. Papier maché and cross stitch, decoupage and knitting. Some beautiful embroidery by Mary and another Mary was making cards with dried flowers. Birgitta was painting her large papier maché bowl and because it is a long process, Cas, Brigid and Brigitta (not the same person – it does get a bit confusing) were doing other activities whilst their bowls were drying – knitting, quilling and decoupage. Jeanette and Margaret were doing cross stitch. Lots of chat as usual
Jan started a wintery scene in oil and Eric was working on his portrait in acrylic.
someone had taken some sneaky pictures of me painting my portrait
lots of crafts were being done today – knitting, patchwork and rag rugging
looking forward to seeing how this evolves – a mystic painting by Jane
Despite the cold we had a few people for the first session of the year. Margaret was doing a lovely piece of embroidery and Jenny was using a pallet knife for the first time with oil paints. I was struggling with a portrait that I had started last year and because I use the oil paint really thickly, it had dried in ridges and therefore I found it difficult to apply new paint to blend in. Maxine was working on a still life which will eventually be a stylised picture of wine and cheese.
This morning Mary was working on some beautiful birds and I was painting some Christmas cards
In the afternoon, Angela had finished her seaside picture and started another. Amanda was working on a stunning rug, Eric was painting a stylised figure (you can see the ghost of another one in the background), Andy was working on his landscape and I started a big portrait.
Cas was continuing with her beautiful heart rug and Mary was painting another couple of plaques. Lilian’s chicken is drying by the fire
Pumpkins! by Jane and Maxine
I was finishing off a bowl of pears
Andy added a bit more to the polar bear
