Birgitta had made some beautiful vintage tiles with just serviettes, pva glue and varnish
Maisie joined us on Tuesday morning and was doing decoupage
On Thursday morning Jackie was painting her watercolour fish and in the afternoon, Jan was continuing with her acrylic
Niamh and Hannah were finishing off their bowls
I was trying acrylics again on a watercolour block – I found it quite difficult after watercolour and oil
A few of us went to see Jan Hagen today, she is a textile artist and colourist. Here are some examples of her beautiful work and we are lucky that she is going to do a needle felting workshop at Jeudi Art this Autumn and next Spring she will be doing a day’s workshop teaching painting on fabric. The dates are yet to be fixed.
We were doing watercolour this morning, Anne was still doing her coastal scene and Mary started to paint a picture frame
Another busy morning with everyone helping each other
Hilary finished her decoupage pot
Brigitta had painted a box and lined the inside with fabric
Stuart was continuing with the chest
I changed the surf boards for a boat in my ‘wave’ painting
Whilst sorting out the cupboard I found two paintings that I had done years ago – I put them in the gallery and promptly sold one!
Viv is progressing with her hawk moth/humming bird painting
… and Eric started a new one
Mary was working on a new box, Jan was doing a stunning painting in acrylic this time and I finished the ‘big wave’ in oil
Me and Jackie were also using watercolour, I was trying out a new Arches watercolour block
A busy morning !
Stuart and Michelle joined us again together with Trisha and Amber. They were renovating an old trunk
Some interesting work today. Anne’s painting is really taking shape, Eric was doing a bit of Degas, Jan was doing an abstract, Mary was painting on fabric and I was trying to capture a vibrant wave scene
Lots of work in preparation. Tuesday morning has become rather more of a community café – lots of chat and some lovely cake this week with our morning coffee or tea.
