A diverse week from buddha heads to giant knitting, not forgetting the elephants
Lots of activity on Tuesday
two elephants waiting to be finished
Eric and Jan were starting new paintings
Jane has nearly finished her water colour, Anne was painting a ram in acrylic, Dawn was outside sketching the courtyard and Helen was starting yet another rug
…and I was doing another Venice
This week we had rugs, elephants, bowls, notice boards, boxes, portraits, gates and Venice
Everyone picked this up really quickly and started with some lovely colour combinations.
I started a large Venice picture – I’m liking the base coat of red now thanks to Eric’s influence
Anne finished the peacock and started a ram
some delicate work from Diana and Marie-Paul
The lilac was calling out to me – paint me, paint me!
the Venice picture is finished – I think !
Jan’s boats and Eric’s gate are almost finished
Fran joined us to explain how to transform a dirty, smelly sheep fleece into a beautiful soft yarn for knitting etc. Some of us struggled to create a beautiful soft yarn, it takes some practice! But we learnt how to card, snip and pick and spin with a drop spindle as well as having a go with a full-sized spinning wheel.
