Fran joined us to explain how to transform a dirty, smelly sheep fleece into a beautiful soft yarn for knitting etc. Some of us struggled to create a beautiful soft yarn, it takes some practice! But we learnt how to card, snip and pick and spin with a drop spindle as well as having a go with a full-sized spinning wheel.
Jan and Eric were starting new paintings today
I was painting for the Elephant Haven
Mary started another box and Anne was painting a rabbit
Birgitta had made a gorgeous decoupage tray that looked like watercolour painting
and then she started a goose !
On Tuesday there were trays, mats and boxes
On Thursday we had a nude, knitting, peacocks, Venice and some other lovely works in progress
Sue had an idea to make a mould in papier maché from an existing bronze bust. She is going to cut it in half to extract it and then stick the two sides together. This could work – watch this space.
Birgitta has finished her large papier maché bowl and her decoupage tray
Jennifer was also covering a plain tray with ‘cutlery’ napkins.
Jeanette was continuing with her cross stitch and Mary with her painted box
A very lively workshop taken by Ruth Trevenian at Crochez Moi. Look out for further dates
