We started off with a Beginner’s Crochet course where we learned how to make granny squares
the rest of the week we did a number of different crafts – Jeanette finished her cork board
Margaret was making some embroidered pockets for an apron
Jane was creating an abstract picture with paper and Birgitta was decoupaging an elephant
and there were some lovely paintings
Although lots of people were on holiday this week, we still had lots of different activities. Some interesting paintings from Ola, Jackie and Michelle
Viv and I are still going pom pom crazy
Birgitte was doing papier maché and Jennifer and Brigitta were dabbling in decoupage
Michelle was painting an old clock front and Stuart attempting a very large cockerel which will eventually be papier machéd (is that a verb?)
These teddy bears are up-cycled from old cardigans and scraps of fabric. We are going to organise a workshop later in the year. I love making things from stuff that would normally be thrown out.
This week we have been going crazy over making pom poms to make rugs and cushion covers – watch this space
Another woven rag rug started and a crochet one finished
… and some of us did some painting
At Mardi Crafts this morning there was knitting, paper crafts, crochet, rag rug weaving, cork craft and painting
This rug is made by plaiting as you go in a round and hooking into the previous plait – best made with stretchable fabric
While Jeudi Art is taking a winter break I have been busy working on new projects for this year’s courses
We were mostly making cards this week
Jackie was painting a commission and I was doing another seascape and trying it for size in the frame
